In my experience in the HVAC industry and at newtons heating and air conditioning i can safely say there is nothing better you can do for your ac system than getting a proper HVAC maintenance. Not only can it help prevent an Ac repair or costly HVAC replacements or maybe just break downs that you just were not predicting that always seem to happen at the worse times. Today i would like to tell you about getting your evaporator coil checked and your condensing unit coil. Both of these coils have tiny slots that air passes through. For your evaporator coil all of the air in your home that you breath passes through it. This is one of the things we would check on a HVAC maintenance and having a clean evaporator coil is crucial to your ac system. Sense air passes through these tiny slots dirt and dusty or hair can start to plug them causing a lack of air flow. This can come from not replacing your ac filters once a month and can be worse if you have kids or pets. When this becomes plugged it can also damage your compressor which is one of your biggest ticket items and i would say in my experience is one of the main components that cause you to want to replace your system if its outside of warranty. Now for your condenser coil when this becomes plugged it can make your compressor work harder and your condenser fan motor which can cause premature break downs for both of these components. This also can increase your electric bill and cleaning this is the number one thing that you can do to help lower your electric bill. So in conclusion getting a HVAC maintenance done or ideally getting an annually HVAC maintenance can not only help keep your indoor air quality stay better, it can help lower your electric bill and extend the life of your HVAC system.
